Service and Repair
SERVICE: At Import Auto, we provide a complete array of preventive maintenance services for almost all vehicles, both while they are under factory warranty and outside of that warranty. As described in our Warranty Service Myths section, your warranty will remain in force if your vehicle is serviced by a reputable entity other then your dealer.
While performing service, we do an inspection of your vehicle's operating systems, and provide you with a list of safety-related (i.e., worn-out brakes, broken suspension or steering parts, or worn-out tires), reliability-related (i.e., weak battery, leaking water pump or radiator, slipping transmission, etc.), and upcoming problems that require attention. You then decide and authorize which problems, if any, to repair. We use factory/OEM-level parts, lubricants, and fluids.
Our objective is to perform services, and have the car back to you the same day. On occasion or for a rare or vintage vehicle, availability of proper parts may cause us to hold the vehicle a bit longer.
We test-drive every serviced vehicle to ascertain completeness and correctness of the services carried out, and the technician responsible for the service signs-off on it.
Services for Out-of-Warranty Vehicles
Import Auto provides a complete range of services for all types of vehicles, consistent with a vehicle's manufacturer-recommended intervals and service contents. Examples include M-B Schedules A and B. BMW Service and Service 3, and other 15,000-mile-interval services.
Chargeable Services While Vehicle is Under Factory Warranty
Import Auto provides a complete schedule of maintenance services for vehicles under factory warranty, consistent with the manufacturer's recommended service contents, intervals or mileage, fluids specifications, and products (i.e., brake pads, rotors, anti-freeze/coolant, etc.) Our fees for such services are generally lower than those by dealers. Our services continue to validate your warranty, and we can stamp your service record book to signify completion of recommended services.
REPAIR: We provide a complete range of automotive repair services for new, aging, and custom vehicles, both of foreign origin and domestic. These services range from a basic tail-light replacement to a complete drive-train replacement (i.e., engine, transmission, differential, axles, etc.) Our objective is to complete most repairs in one day; however, a vehicle's age, availability of quality parts, or complexity of repairs may necessitate keeping a vehicle for more than one day. We always provide estimates of costs and time to complete work, and routinely meet these commitments.
For our existing customers, we maintain a complete data base of a vehicle's complete service history at Import Auto, which we consult as part of our diagnostic and estimate-development phase going forward. For our first-time customers, we begin setting up the history, and capture all relevant vehicle-specific information to facilitate future service or repair calls.

All waste oil from customer cars is recycled by being used to heat and cool the shop, as well as run other
